Serial number matched on the floor plate, bolt and receiver. No birds and no swastika anywhere on the rifle. The more I remember about the rifle in question, the more I dislike it. There are 4 different lengths of Mauser actions: standardlong. But the bluing, if any, is all but gone from all metal, and there are no distinguishing marks except for matching serial numbers, and the date ' It felt really good in my hands, excepty for the noted concerns. The stock is in nice shape, save for a loose upper hand guard. A local shop has a Mauser Mod98 for sale.
